Coronation Street star’s son gives jaw-dropping audition on The X Factor tonight

Talented lad is also an actor

| Updated:

Fans of BBC One school drama Waterloo Road will doubtless recognise a familiar face on tonight’s The X Factor, as young actor Will Rush auditions for the judges.

Will, now 21, starred in the hit show as pupil John Stevenson between 2009 and 2013. He’s also had roles in Grange Hill, The Street, Casualty and Coronation Street.

And, speaking of the Corrie, Will – now pursuing a career as a singer-songwriter – still has a very personal connection to it; his mum Debbie Rush plays popular character Anna.

You can see the resemblance, right?

Will, who doesn’t name drop his famous mum during his audition, wows with a rousing rendition of Zara Larsson’s Lush Life.

While that’s the talent covered for this evening, the hilarity comes courtesy of 60-year-old Cori, who zooms into the audition room on a mobility scooter and sings Bryan Adams’ Run To You.

Cori is a character, make no mistake. She reportedly has an ASBO ‘for hurling racial abuse at a Boots store worker after she nearly reversed her mobility scooter into a child’. O-kaaaay.

She also owns four cockatoos, which prompts Cowell to quip: “Louis likes a cockatoo.”
