This Morning’s Queen of Clean Lynsey Crombie admits she ‘hates herself’ following cancer diagnosis: ‘I’m just not right’

She previously said she felt like a 'ticking time bomb'

This Morning star Lynsey Crombie – famous as the ITV show’s Queen of Clean – has opened up about “hating herself” following her cancer diagnosis.

The ITV contributor was told last year she has melanoma skin cancer, having had two moles removed from her leg.

Thankfully, Lynsey hasn’t required further treatment and has regular NHS skin checks. But she acknowledges her concerns have taken a toll on her mental health.

She told OK! how her anxiety has been at “an all-time high”. Furthermore, she said going through cancer has left her ‘not liking herself’.

Lynsey said: “I look at myself now and you sort of don’t like yourself, you hate yourself – it’s a really weird feeling and I’m just not right.”

It’s a really weird feeling and I’m just not right.

She went on: “I’ve not done live TV for a few weeks because I feel like I just can’t do it, I’ve got a block in front of me and I’ve got to get back to it because I need to, but I feel like I’m not very good around people at the moment.”

‘Do a skin check’

Now, Lynsey – who has previously said she feels “like a bit of a ticking time bomb” – hopes to encourage people to pay attention to any changes they may notice with their bodies.

She urged: “Do a skin check, take photographs, and check yourself, because you don’t know when they’re going to appear – use sun cream and stay away from sunbeds. Or they could create some more warning signs in sunbed stores to make people more aware.”
