Roman Kemp – who is on Saturday Kitchen today (Saturday, May 4) – has made a frank admission over “hereditary health conditions”.
The star’s confession comes as he and his father, Martin Kemp, team up for a new venture together…
Roman Kemp and Martin Kemp collaborate with Vision Express
Martin and son Roman have collaborated with Vision Express to raise awareness of the importance of getting regular eye tests.
The collaboration comes amid Vision Express launching its Advanced Eye Test, which includes an OCT scan that detects eye conditions.
Martin, 62, revealed that his vision has changed a lot with age.
“My eyesight has changed considerably throughout my life, and I often need a different prescription every time I get my eyes tested. This really goes to show how important it is to keep on top of regular eye test appointments, as well as talking to your children about any hereditary eye conditions they might come to acquire and the signs they need to look out for,” he said.
Roman Kemp makes health confession
The One Show star Roman then admitted that he hasn’t always prioritised his eye health.
“I’ve definitely been guilty of not prioritising eye tests in the past and it’s easy to put off appointments when life gets in the way,” the 31-year-old DJ said.
“Since getting my Advanced Eye Test at Vision Express, I feel like I’m much more equipped on how to keep my eyes in check and accountable for not letting my eye health fall to the bottom of the list.”

Martin and Roman’s new podcast
Roman’s confession comes not long after he and Martin announced they’re launching a podcast together.
The podcast, titled FFS! My dad is Martin Kemp, launched earlier this week (Wednesday, May 1).
“Hello! It’s Martin and Roman Kemp here, and YES we are finally doing a #podcast,” they wrote on Instagram.
“FFS! My Dad is Martin Kemp drops Wednesday 1st May and we will be discussing all things from Death, Marriage, Parties, Space and much much more…,” they then added.
“This will be good. So miss hearing your voice every morning on the radio. Can listen to this now!” one fan commented.
“I don’t do podcasts…this will be my first!” another said.
