Zoe Ball says goodbye to her mum with ‘perfect’ funeral just 12 weeks after cancer diagnosis: ‘Some days it’s so hard to be brave’

TV and radio star Zoe Ball shared an emotional tribute to her mum who died 12 weeks after being diagnosed with cancer.

The funeral took place yesterday (May 9) where Zoe revealed: “It was the perfect day and she would have loved it.”

Zoe Ball pays tribute to her mum: ‘Forever in our hearts’

In a touching Instagram post, Zoe shared photos of her mother throughout the years. “Yesterday we said goodbye to our dear Mama, Granny J. it was the perfect day and she would have loved it.

“Forever in our hearts Mama, thank you for your magic & love. Missing you so much but holding tight to each other,” she wrote in a lengthy caption.

Big love to the many of you who have shared with us about your own loss and heartbreak.

“Thank you to everyone who sent kind messages, cards & flowers. Big love to the many of you who have shared with us about your own loss and heartbreak, to those battling with cancer or looking after loved ones affected by cancer. We wish you all the strength and love. and of course the humour you need to keep going. some days it’s so hard to be brave,” Zoe continued.

The former Big Breakfast host revealed that she and her brother will be fundraising with Pancreatic Cancer UK and St Peter & St James Hospice in the hope that “one day more can be done to help those diagnosed.”

Zoe received floods of support

Following the emotional upload, Zoe received many condolences from her industry pals.

“Sending you so much my beautiful Zoe. Love you dearly,” Gaby Roslin wrote.

“All love,” Claudia Winkleman shared.
