King Charles shares he’s experienced ‘loss of taste’ during cancer treatment

The King stepped out with Prince William on Monday

King Charles has reportedly opened up about a symptom he’s experiencing amid his cancer treatment.

Charles took a step back from his public royal duties in February after revealing he had been diagnosed with cancer. However, at the end of April, the King visited a hospital with wife Queen Camilla in his first public facing duty since his diagnosis.

Now, the monarch has visited the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop, Hampshire. He made his son Prince William Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps.

But during the visit on Monday (May 13), Charles offered a glimpse into his cancer treatment.

The King spoke to veteran Aaron Mapplebeck, who underwent chemotherapy last year for testicular cancer.

According to reports, Aaron told King Charles that he had lost his sense of taste during his treatment – something the King said he has also experienced.

Charles commented on the “loss of taste” when undergoing treatment, reports claim.

Queen Camilla on Charles’ cancer

It comes after the King made his return to public facing duties on April 30. Charles and Camilla paid a visit to University College Hospital’s Macmillan Cancer Centre.

The following day, Camilla was present at a Buckingham Palace reception for those the support of survivors of sexual abuse.

This was where she reportedly lifted the lid on her thoughts about Charles’ outing. She apparently told Teresa Tideman, chair of In Kind Direct: “I think he was really thrilled to be out.

I’ve been trying to hold him back.

“I’ve been trying to hold him back.”

At the engagement, Camilla addressed 300 guests, including former Prime Minister Theresa May, Carrie Johnson and Cherie Blair.

The reception relaunched the Queen’s Wash Bag Project. This scheme began in 2013 and provides toiletries to victims of sexual assault and rape, providing them with some comfort after they experience forensic examinations.

Camilla and Charles news

Meanwhile, according to Bella recently, the King hopes to attend the Royal Ascot and Trooping the Colour, but the Queen has her concerns.

Royal expert Jennie Bond claimed: “Camilla will do her best to persuade Charles to take things gently. They are a very loving couple, and she will feel hugely protective of him.”

Jennie continued: “She also knows her husband, and she knows that his work is important to him, now more than ever, with his role as King rather than heir.

“It has probably been a bit of a conflict, she probably wanted to run around in her slippers and take care of him but they both have this big job to do for the monarchy and they have to get on with it.”
